Charlie Kirks Death
It’s been only a couple of hours since Charlie Kirk was shot and pronounced dead. When I first heard the news, my heart was veiled with fear, terror and then…confusion. I was unsure as to how I should feel for someone who has constantly denied the ongoing humanatarian crises in Gaza and holds views which aren’t compassionate towards other humans.
Should I feel bad for someone who doesn’t feel bad for others being shot to death?
But then, after a couple seconds of thought, I realised that we’re all the results of our environments. A sum of all the events that have occured that got us where we are. Sure we all have the “free will” to make choices that can influence what direction we go but most of us still stay is some proximity towards the environment we grew up in. Not because it’s right but because it’s an environment we grew up in, it’s familiar.
So, whatever opinions or thoughts Charlie Kirk held were in some large part influenced by the people around him, the environment and events that occured around him. We all percieve the same events in entirely different ways because we’re not all getting the same input of preceding events.
Charlie Kirks public opinions were a disgrace but his assasination is unjustifiable and despicable. No human reserves the right to take life from another as we can never comprehend or understand what got the other person where they are. We can only hope to guide them back to the path of truth, kindness and humanity.
I can only hope that those who he leaves behind are able to live a peaceful, prosperous and beautiful life on our wonderful planet Earth, home to our incredible civilisation.
