I am ashamed to admit this but I have only recently discovered that in Afghanistan the Taliban have banned the education for girls beyond 6th grade.
To be completely honest, I had to cross-check the claim as I just found it to be unbelievable. I thought surely it was propaganda, how could it be that in the 21st century where we have robots capable of landing on other PLANETS, where we have the developed the technologies that gives us the mean to alter our genetic code, we have a huge group of people being denied one of the most basic rights each human has.

I have just finished watching the dead poets society and what a movie it is. The themes it explores, the subtle messages it conveys, the poetry it romanticises.
It’s all remarkable. While I’m sure everyone interprets movie in their own unique way, my interpretation is of a teacher who has the courage to teach the most important lesson to his students: the ability to think for ones self and Carpe Diem (Seize the day)

I have just finished watching the movie I origins and I have to say that I’ve found it profound in some sense. The idea that the “soul” can transcend and be a part of another beings existence is quite interesting. To think that the eyes carry a whole univerise inside of them for they look so beautiful and full of life. They’re capable of seeing and expressing. However, naturally this idea is comforting in some sense to a person who has lost a loved one.
